Participants will be disqualified from the competition if they show violent behaviour or litter in nature. It is compulsory to respect crops, livestock and private property in general.

Participants are responsible for any damage caused as a result of this type of behaviour.

It is strictly forbidden to receive external assistance or refreshments during the race outside the points provided by the Organisation: these will coincide with the official refreshment points of the race.

Art.4 PARTICIPATION AND REGISTRATION

Participation will be open to all those who correctly formalise both the REGISTRATION and the payment stipulated for the races.

The registration fee for the COSTA DEL SOL GRAN FONDO will be governed by the payment terms established on the registration page.

The registration to the COSTA DEL SOL GRAN FONDO implies the acceptance of the rules and the adequate preparation of the participant for the race, being aware of the geographical and meteorological conditions that can be found in the environment where the event takes place. In this sense, the participant exempts the Organization of possible health problems that may arise from their participation in the COSTA DEL SOL GRAN FONDO.

The runners registered for the race understand that they participate voluntarily and under their own responsibility in the event, and therefore, exonerate the Organisation of the race from all responsibility, and agree not to denounce the organising entity, collaborators, sponsors and other participants; nor to initiate any civil liability claim against the aforementioned parties.

Each participant will be assigned a race number that will be determined at random in all cases, except for the first numbers, which will be determined by the Organisation.

Registered riders will be assigned a race number with a different colour depending on the category they have registered for.

Once the event is over, race numbers and rider bags that have not been collected within the established time frame will not be sent to the rider’s home under any circumstances.

In the event that any participant in the race is overtaken by the green flag (end of the safety zone), they must remove their race number from view, as from that moment on they must respect all traffic regulations and will be travelling at their own risk. After the green flag, there will be an organisation vehicle informing all participants who are overtaken by the green flag that, from that moment on, their race number must be worn in a non-visible place (if they arrive at the refreshment station with their race number visible, the organisation will instruct them to remove it and place it in a non-visible place).

All race services will remain active, guaranteeing assistance, refreshments, timekeeping, etc.

It is strictly forbidden to follow the runners in any type of motor vehicle or vehicle on wheels (skates, bicycles, etc…), and the Local Police will be expressly ordered to remove them from the circuit. All riders shall submit to the doctor’s judgement whenever requested to do so by the doctor, the assessment of the medical team taking precedence over any other assessment, whereby the doctors may:

  • Eliminate from the race (by cancelling the race bib) any runner who is deemed unfit to continue.
  • Order the evacuation of any runner they consider to be in danger.
  • Order the hospitalisation of any rider when this is deemed necessary.

Withdrawals must be made at the checkpoints. If, due to an accident or injury, a runner is immobilised and unable to reach a checkpoint, they must activate the rescue operation by contacting the organisation by telephone using the emergency mobile phone number indicated on their race number.

Once at the refreshment station, the runner must inform the refreshment station manager of their intention to withdraw from the race so that their race number can be cancelled and they can be identified as having withdrawn.

Transport will be available to evacuate runners who withdraw from the race. They must make their own way to the control points to be picked up.
